Foreword

2–3 minutes

Naturally, I tend to keep things close to my chest, a strength, and a weakness of mine. However, in this moment, I sense that sharing these words can have a real impact, so that’s why I’m writing.

Writing is my expression of choice, it resonates with me far more than the fast paced, click bait nature of social platforms. To me, there’s something different and special about words on a page. Something that cannot be replicated through a screen. I write for myself, just as much as I write for anyone else.

So far, I’ve travelled the world, lived in foreign places, met thousands of people from all different walks of life, I’ve worked for others, worked for myself, I’ve met the love of my life, and most importantly, I’ve learned some incredible life lessons along the way that have guided me through it all. I’m still young, with much to learn and experience, but I know that my life experiences can help people now, and that’s why I’m writing.

The lessons learned are what I feel obliged to share. My life experience is unique to me and me only. So, this is not a ‘do as I say and as I do,’ but rather a ‘take what you like and leave what you don’t.’

These types of personal experiences and lessons learned tend to be shared by those nearing the end of their life, when they’re wise and old with more days behind them than left in front. I’ve always thought it would be far more valuable to hear the experiences of someone that’s much closer in age, experiencing life at a similar pace in a world that is relatable and relevant. So here I am.

I recognise that in doing so, and writing this at age 27, I have much to learn. In fact, the further into life that I get, the more I realise I know very little, and my zest to learn grows larger. I know that I am going to be vulnerable to experiences and realities that come later in life, although I think that is what makes this unique and worth sharing.

So, to anyone out there that’s committed to living a life that is full, I hope my experiences and lessons learned thus far help you do just that.
